Beachcomber Coffee, founded in 2015, is an award-winning specialty coffee producer based in Gibsons, British Columbia, capturing the laid-back lifestyle of the Sunshine Coast. Beachcomber has established itself as a Canadian lifestyle brand that happens to deliver its experience through coffee. Beachcomber opened its first brick and mortar location in 2018 after acquiring Truffles Cafe in Lower Gibsons. The transformation and buildout was captured in a mini-documentary by Dolf Vermeulen:
In 2019, Beachcomber opened its To-Go location, a 300sf grab and go cafe at Sunnycrest Mall in Upper Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. Beachcomber Coffee has expanded its wholesale programs to various Sunshine Coast businesses and retailers in the Lower Mainland.
In 2021, Beachcomber opened Bed & Beachcomber above its Lower Gibsons cafe. B&B is a 600sf industrial loft studio, awarded one of the most unique AirBnBs on the Sunshine Coast.
In 2022, Beachcomber's Founder & CEO invested in Basted Baker, an award-winning breakfast and brunch restaurant in Sechelt. Beachcomber roasts and supplies a Basted Baker Blend coffee for Basted's coffee program.
In 2024 and beyond, Beachcomber looks to scale its ecommerce channel (direct to consumer) and is eyeing a 3rd location hopefully by the end of 2024.
