As an Entrepreneur, your journey is filled with ups, downs, and forks in the road. We only launched in January of 2015 and we couldn't be more proud of what we've accomplished to date. We've been working on this pivot for months and it's a monumental moment in our short company history.
As a brand rooted on the Sunshine Coast, we represent the community and this slice of paradise found on the West Coast of Canada. We are more than just a coffee and that's why you've seen us release a few Sunshine Coast Vibes products these past few months as our brand is all about the Sunshine Coast, its people, and the West Coast lifestyle.
Over the past 2-years, many of you have challenged us to become Certified Organic and/or Certified Fairtrade. It's not that we didn't want to achieve these things, it's just that at the time, due to various factors, it wasn't possible. However, we've made some power moves and have some exciting announcements to make. As of October 25, 2017, Beachcomber Coffee will be:
- Certified Organic
- Certified Fairtrade
- Certified Kosher
- Certified Halal
Huge right? But let's not stop there...with these new certifications comes a new coffee blend AND new bags! our new bags are flat-bottom pouches with a built-in zipper. From a design perspective, we've amped up our signature yellow as well as integrated log-salvaging (Beachcomber) to the sides of the bag. We should also mention our prices are NOT increasing even though these certifications aren't cheap and mean a higher quality coffee bean; we're not going to pass these costs down to our awesome customers!
It's a big move for us...we love our current blend and we have a lot of people that wake up to it every single morning. We run the risk of losing some customers but we can assure you we spent months perfecting this blend, not just to replicate something similar, but to take it to that next level. We wanted to re-release our coffee as an even better version of its former self. We can say with confidence that this new blend is better than the previous generation, not only because it represents many healthy and ethical certifications, but it's flavour profile is deeper/darker than its predecessor.
